"When I was your age" Wednesday

I have been trying to think of a theme, and the bottom line is I am not creative enough to make a pretty graphic. That being said I have decided to go with "When I was your age...." If you want to join in, feel free if not just read along (Again, I won't know. .I am not creative enough for Mr Linky lol I am so pathetic)

When I was your age....
The cost of milk and gasoline did not constantly flip flop to see which was more expensive.

When I was your age...
I did not spend 8 hours a day in front of a TV or a video game, instead we were outside playing kick the can or Red Rover.
When I was your age...
the video game I had came with one stick on the controller and one button, and we LIKED it that way!!

When I was your age...
Barbie had one house and one car, that was it...now Barbie has more accessories than Bill Gates

When I was your age...
if kids got in to fights they used their hands and their voices.. Never did you hear of someone being shot in school.

When I was your age...
you could make a phone call for a quarter and buy a stamp for a quarter.

When I was your age...
We didnt worry about global warming or the ozone layer (we have proof I used about a can of aqua net a week.. my hair NEVER moved)

When I was your age...
Sunday was for family time and friends understood if you called during Sunday dinner I would not be talking to you until the following week.

When I was your age...
I didn't worry about paying bills or where the money came from I just knew Mom and Dad had it under control

When I was your age..
I did not question my parents when told No, I just understood that the argument was over and to slowly walk away... s l o w l y
When I was your age...
we supported our military, respected our flag, and even if we did not agree with our President we had respect for him and the job he was doing.
When I was your age...
it was ok to use your imagination, it was ok to be creative, and if nothing else it was expected and praised!
Ok. I know there are more than these.. WAY WAY WAY more, but these are mine. What can you add?

Here is one we have used, "When I was your age, there were 4 channels on the TV. Now there are 300 - there MUST be SOMETHING to watch!"

Right? that one drives me nuts. Because if the President was on at night he was on EVERY channel.. we didn't have the movie channel option.

I have one too - People talked on the phone instead of typing on their phone. You wanted to talk to someone, you had to TALK to them.
